Day in Bedarra Beach Inn
Stayed here 13 years ago and it has not changed at all. Still amazing!!! Staff are unbelievable... so welcoming and professional. Massage therapist got visited daily for all the daily specials [don't miss this opportunity..Brilliant and really made for a relaxing holiday]. Beach straight across the road [take your snorkel and reef shoes] with an array of all the tropical fish right as you walk in. Fresh coconut to drink and eat. Food is delicious [daily soup specials were our favourite]. Spotless and clean. We had a deluxe room for 3 of us. Perfect size. Balcony overlooking beach and pool. If travelling with kids, the Outrigger Resort is a 10 min walk up the beach. Due to the high cost of food at Bedarra, we opted for the children's menu at the Outrigger and just told them we were visitors and paid [$24 for main meal, dessert and drink]. Take entertainment with you..TV in bedroom doesn't work. There is a book shelf with books people have left. Wifi we found worked really well. If your package includes Tropical Breakfast, they allow you to change providing it equals the same amount (not including the coffee machine coffees), or you pay the extra. We changed a couple of times for alternative, but returned to the tropical as it included juice, coffee/tea, toast, fruit and cereal. Time to travel from Nadi Airport is 1hr 15mins with no traffic on road or a lot longer at high traffic hours (keep this in mind when booking flights for arrival and departure if travelling with kids). I organised Ron, a private driver for our return trip at $220 - however Bedarra can also organise it for $300. Be aware that food and beverage are expensive. We got Ron to stop on our way to Bedarra and stocked up on huge bottles of water (there are small bar fridges in your room for you to keep water, juice etc). We also stocked up on our favourite Fijian UFO chips for our week's stay. The pool is kept clean and beautiful, as are all gardens and beach.

Bedarra exceeded all our expectations. It is a perfect resort for families. The rooms are extremely clean, the pool suitable for small kids and some of the best snorkelling in the Coral Coast right in front with magnificent sunsets. Reception even lend out reef shoes. The restaurant is superb with fresh produce for breakfast each morning. Although if you want to try more options for dinner the Crab Shack and the Grill are a very short stroll down the road. All staff are exceptional and were always willing to help and so personable they knew all our names. Reception also booked day trips for us from here which I highly recommend. The staff knew which ones were the best value for money for two families travelling together. The fantastic Chef even made a wedding anniversary cake for us. All the staff from reception, the restaurant, bar, musicians, Spa, housekeeping and groundskeepers were a genuine delight. Thank you for letting us experience true Fijian hospitality.

The staff are exceptional, they remember your name and are always smiling, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is very small and retains a very quaint feel about it. So don’t expect a ‘modern’ shiny glass and plastic hotel, rather very local and traditional. There are 3 other restaurants within easy walking, but the food at the Bedarra was very good and the location of the restaurant on the terrace overlooking the sea with the swaying palms was idyllic. My experience of the cooking in Fiji is stick as much as you can to fish or chicken, beef and pork is not up to the standards you might expect.

Roy

Excellent and friendly service. Clean and large rooms (ours was comfy for a family of four). Great location with lots to do around (a few good restaurants, a souvenir shop and a nice café within walking distance, shopping in Sigatoka, Sigatoka Sand Dunes, etc.) Pool and seafront areas were very inviting too, including for happy hour!

Julia

We loved the peace and quiet at Bedarra and the lovely friendly staff. Everything was easy and straighforward. And happy hour cocktails of course! The restaurant and bar at Bedarra is fine and it's great that they are open all day. It's also great that there are a few other options for places to eat within a few minutes walk.
